Willamette, Clearwater Landing to Alton Baker Class 2

SS IV #80 This paddle is 8.2 miles of largely Class 1 moving water. There are several splashy low ledge drops, woody debris and strainers. SS has this run rated up to a class 3, this may be true for higher flows, the river is at low Summer flow at this time. Paddlers will need skill to read the water, obtain your desired path, and eddy out to Scout. The Willamette is reasonably warm at this time, paddled in hot weather the results of immersion should not be complicated. The Willamette River Fest will be held this day at Alton Baker Park, we should arrive in time to attend the Fest. Visit the WKCC website to register for this paddle to receive further information about the launch, shuttle, and takeout.
