A Winter Saturday paddle on the Calapooia near Tangent OR, Both the launch and takeout are primitive - unimproved. The river is turbid limiting visibility of obstacles. Gradient is shallow, current mild, there will be woody material and trees in the the river. Paddlers will need dry or wet suits as immersion protection. This is not a beginner paddle at this time of year, paddlers will need the skill to maneuver their craft to stay clear of wood and strainers. We should be on the river about 3 hours, bring a lunch.
