We want to paddle in the Mid Valley this weekend. This is a posting to gather interest. Paddle will be about 4 miles, 2-3 hours. Possible paddles are the lower Mary's, Muddy Creek, Calapooia, or Luckiamute. These waters have a bad reputation for logjams and hazard, so far we have not encountered this. We have not had to portage yet. Yes there is woody debris, yes you need the skill to fine maneuver clear of it, yes you need a drysuit or suitable immersion gear. These creeks are docile at the present levels and quite fun to paddle. These creeks are seasonal, the time to explore them is now. Register for this paddle on the WKCC website, leave a good cell number or Email for updates. We will assess the turnout and groups abilities and with your input select an appropriate paddle. If Saturdays weather is poor this paddle may postpone to Sunday.
