South Santiam, Foster to McDowell, Class 2+

The South Santiam being reservoir fed is flowing a consistent 1,000cfm this time of year. We paddled this section last year and discovered excellent play waves between Foster and Sweet Home.  While the posting describes it as class 2+ a paddler can choose lines which are less splashy. Being below Foster Reservoir and the  dam, there is very little wood in this section, splashy areas sequence into safe holes. Last years paddle was 15 miles, this year it will be 9.8 miles as we discovered the last 5 miles was well, boring. Some parts of this paddle will be mild WW, this paddle is not suitable for a newbie, but is suitable for an experienced paddler raising their bar.

For all WKCC club trips:
1) The club's insurance policy requires all trip participants to sign the liability waiver. If you are inviting others on the trip please be sure they register online to sign the waiver. PLEASE DO NOT REGISTER OTHERS; EVERY PADDLER MUST REGISTER THEMSELF.

2) Parents/legal guardians of participants under the age of 18 must also sign the liability waiver. If you are under 18 please be sure your parent or legal guardian completes their portion of the registration form.

3) PFD with whistle is required per club safety guidelines and Oregon State law.
