The South Santiam in the area of Lebanon is a little splashy, a little playful, surprisingly free of wood. Being reservoir fed we have good consistent flow all Summer. The mid channel is docile and safe for learners and newbies, but in the mix there are about a half dozen features where a canny paddler could show off and surf. The launch portage is about 500', the takeout is a gentle easy private gravel bar. No one but us (WKCC) paddles this section as the river below Lebanon is bordered by private property - but I know someone.
