I am taking a church youth group on a moving water paddle this Saturday and thought I would open this up to anyone who may be interested. This is about a 3.5 mile paddle of about 1 1/2hrs with a little splash and gurgle, excitement but really nothing that will get a novice in trouble. This paddle is highly suitable for learners and novices. A canny paddler can catch a surf here and there, there is minimal wood in this section. A bit of a portage to get on the water, we have wheeled dollies to share which simplify the long portage. The takeout is a nice gentle gravel bar.
